Environmental and Social Governance
A scholarship has been established to assist indigenous youths with funding for their secondary education. It has so far provided scholarships for eight boys at Guildford Grammar school with funds provided from Kwinana Power Station under commitments detailed in a Heritage Agreement with the elders of the Nyoongar people. The program at Guildford Grammar has been a success for all concerned including the boys, the elders and the school.
There is also a Heritage Agreement in place that provides the Nyoongar people with funding assistance of $25,000 per annum for up to 10 years for the establishment of a community office to pursue cultural and land-related activities.
