Infrastructure Capital Group (“ICG”) is pleased to announce the appointment of several senior investment professionals to support its continued growth as one of Australia’s leading infrastructure managers, with over A$2.5bn of equity under management.

The appointments come as ICG continues to successfully execute investments across renewables, transportation, energy and utilities, and other sub-sectors to build its portfolio of quality infrastructure assets across Australia.

Isabelle Demir has been appointed Executive Director, working across all areas of the business, from transaction execution to client engagement.

Isabelle joins from Frontier Advisors, where she was Head of Real Assets & Private Equity, responsible for advising institutional clients on investment opportunities and portfolio composition, as well as business development.

She brings extensive experience across the infrastructure sector. Prior to Frontier Advisors Isabelle was an Investment Director at MENA Infrastructure Fund, in Dubai; and before that worked in investment banking with HSBC as a Director in its EMEA Power and Utilities Team, based in London.

Meena Samaan joins ICG as Director.  With infrastructure M&A experience across Europe, Australia and Asia, Meena will enhance ICG’s deal execution capabilities.

Meena joins from Royal Bank of Canada, where he was a Director of Infrastructure, based in London. He has originated and executed transactions across numerous infrastructure sub sectors including utilities, new energies, renewables and midstream assets.

Andrew Carman joins ICG as Asset Director.  He brings extensive asset management and industry operating experience and will work closely with the management teams across ICG’s portfolio companies and assets.

Andrew was previously with AGL and prior to that with Santos where he held senior management roles commercialising and growing energy and infrastructure assets across Australia and Asia.

Other recent joiners include:

  • Steve Ingham – formerly of Wren House Infrastructure and before that with Citi Investment Banking in London
  • Simon Spurr – having joined from Clean Energy Finance Corporation and previously with MIRA

Commenting on the appointments, Tom Laidlaw, Managing Director of ICG, said:

“We are delighted to welcome these exceptional professionals to ICG to continue our recent growth and take advantage of our strong pipeline of opportunities.  These appointments create an important foundation to further enhance our capabilities across investor engagement, transaction execution and asset management and meet the expanding needs of a growing client base.”
